Rides

Group Rides

These rides are not run, or sponsored by Peninsula Velo, but many club members choose to participate in them. They are informal and open to any helmet-wearing rider who rides safely and is comfortable riding in a group. The weekend rides take place year-round, unless noted. Be ready to roll at the time indicated.

8:15 am Saturday
"One-wait" group ride - brisk pace - 50K
Ride starts and finishes at the intersection of Canada Road and Highway 92. This ride regroups toward the end of the ride at the Chevron station on Woodside Road after turning off Whiskey Hill.

8:30 am First Saturday of the Month
"No Drop" group ride - moderate pace - 2-3 hours
This ride does not occur regularly, contact info@penvelo.org
Ride starts and finishes at the intersection of Canada Road and Highway 92. This ride strives to go slower (and longer) than the 8:15 group ride. Group will wait for dropped riders and riders with mechanicals. Route varies, but a typical ride would be through Woodside, Portola Valley and down along Foothill to Stevens Creek Reservoir and back.

9:00 am Saturday
Women's ride - moderate pace - 2.5 hours
This ride does not occur regularly, contact info@penvelo.org
This ride starts at the intersection of Canada Road and Edgewood in Woodside. The route of this ride varies.

8:00 am Sunday
"One-wait" group ride - very fast pace - 50K
Same route as the standard Saturday "One-wait" ride.

6:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday
"No-wait" group ride - very fast pace - slightly more than 50K
Rides start and finish at the intersection of Canada Road and Highway 92. These rides begin when the clocks change in spring and continue through the summer. Attendance gradually wanes in September.

Long Rides

Associated with the "Group Rides" are the following "Long Rides" which also begin at Canada and Hwy 92. The (un)official split-off for these rides typically takes place at the Woodside Bakery stop. Although these rides are intended as training rides for the PV Performance Team, they are open to all PV members. Dates and start times will be announced through the PV mailing list.
